It was a gorgeous blue bird day at Chanteclaire Farm, just outside of Deep Creek Lake, MD. The first thing that struck me was Alyssa's dress, an homage to Nick's South American roots (though at the time he had yet to know that...). The 2nd thing that struck me was the fact that she wanted her friends & family to join them for the First Look.

Who wouldn't want a lakefront wedding? Emily & Dennis are lake people to a "T" and decided to seal their nuptials on the shores of Deep Creek Lake in front of friends, family, stand up paddleboarders, and passing pontoons. They then retreated back to the cozy and rustic grounds of Chanteclaire Farm to share some incredible memories over a few toasts and dance the night away.

I want to talk about the quote a little bit, and the picture above. In all of us, there are many many layers between how we want to be seen, and who we are. The constant struggle between authenticity and what we tuck away out of fear of criticism or judgement. Regardless of what you see above, I think we can all agree on one thing. There's no bullshit.

For the Mid-Atlantic, Deep Creek Lake is a great place to getaway for a while. Far enough in the Appalachian Mountains that you feel your distance from the city, but still close enough to drive. It makes for an ideal "Mini-Destination Wedding" and half the fun is sharing the lake life with family and friends. Jacqui & Justin got married just down the lane at Chanteclaire Farm. Some of the things I'll remember most are the classic car, the excitement in Jacqui's Dad's face leading up to the ceremony, and a Man of Honor speech that brought down the house.
